7 Beauty Products You Really Need in Your Life…(at least I do)

Being a woman is a hard job! Am I right ladies!? I mean…we have so much maintenance that goes along with being a woman. From skin care, hair care, makeup etc. there is a lot of money, time, and effort that goes into being us!!

Today, I want to share with you some of the products that I have found over the years to be my go to products. Some of these products I have found online through various recommendations from others, and some of them are spur-of-the-moment products I bought and tried myself. The products that I’ll mention are in the categories of hair, makeup, and self-tanning.

#1 Hair Product

When I first learned how to flat-iron my hair, I was so excited! I would always make sure I built in time to flat iron my hair for school each morning. After awhile, I began to notice that my hair started to get extremely dry! The ends would split and the overall look was NOT flattering (no pun intended).

A friend of mine told me about a product that she used to keep her hair looking healthy while still being able to apply heat. It’s called Smooth & Seal by the Sexy Hair line. Not only does it add protection to your hair from heat damage, but it also adds shine. You simply spray it on dry hair before you apply heat. I also use this product when I curl my hair with a wand or curling iron. The price is $18.95 on amazon and can also be found at Target, Ulta, or any salons that sell hair products. #2 Self-Tanning Products

I have learned the hard way, and I CANNOT stress enough how important it is that we take care of our skin! When you’re younger, you think that baking in the sun won’t hurt your skin, and all you care about its turning tan. You opt for tanning amplifiers, baby oil, products with zero SPF, etc. The next thing you know, you’re thirty and freaking out at the spots showing up on your face, wondering what to do to get rid of them. It’s a lot harder to erase sun damage than it is to prevent it! Sun spots and wrinkles are not cute!! Once they being appearing, all that tanning you did before suddenly seems like not such a great idea. Ladies (trust me)…please wear your sunscreen everyday! In fact, try to make sure your foundation has an SPF in it too.

So, now that I’ve jumped off my soap box…let me share with you a couple products that will give you a sun-kissed glow while saving your precious skin. The first one is a self tanning face lotion. I usually apply it to my face once I’ve cleansed (right before bedtime).

It’s called Tan Ceuticals Color+Correct and I usually get mine off amazon. It goes for $21.95 and lasts for months if you only apply it a couple times a week (which has proven enough for me). The best part about it is that it won’t clog your pores and has a nice smell to it. You can apply it with your fingers (no mit needed) and give your hands a good wash once it’s on. I use the dark, but it also comes in ultra dark if the dark is not enough for you. The next self-tanning product that I’m going to share is for the rest of the body. I have used several self-tanners over the years, and this product is BY FAR my fav! It is a little pricey(most self-tanners are), but so worth the results. People always think that my tan is natural when in fact it’s completely fake thanks to this product!

It’s called Loving Tan 2 Hr Express Mousse and goes for $39.95 off amazon (but, you can also get it from Ulta). For this product, you MUST have a tanning applicator mit to avoid staining the palms of your hands. I love that this product is a foam-like mousse consistency and instantly gives you a glow with the first application. It has a quick 1 minute dry time and lasts for up to a week before you need to apply more. I usually continue to apply each day until my desired hue is reached. After that, I only have to apply every two to three days. It has no bad smell and is a perfect alternative to baking in the sun and damaging your skin. #3 Makeup Products

The makeup products that I want to share with you today are mainly for prepping for makeup and eyeliner products. I could go on and on about other makeup products that I use, but I just wanted to pick out a couple that are especially helpful in the areas of long-wear for your makeup. For the longest time, I could not get my makeup to last past the lunch hour. I would apply it before work, and then by lunch time I looked like I had never had any on. The process of re-applying got on my nerves, and I began thinking, “there’s got to be something out there that will last throughout the day”. Sooooo, I took my problem to the fixer of all makeup woes…the M.A.C. counter. The lady there helped me discover two products that really do keep my makeup on all day long!

M.A.C. cosmetics has an AMAZING line of prep and prime products that help makeup last. There are more than what I am going to list here, but these are the main ones I use.

The first one is their Skin Base Visage it is a foundation primer that goes on after your sunscreen but before your foundation to keep you covered all day. This is a little pricey at $33, but I promise that it works! When I go to take my makeup off before bed, I still have all of it on because of this product! You can purchase it anywhere M.A.C. cosmetics are sold.

Their next Prep and Prime product that I adore is to keep your eye shadows on all day. It’s called Prep+Prime 24 Hr Extend Eye Base and goes for $24.50 (which is again a little pricey)…but it’s SO worth it!! Your eye shadow will stay put all day long! When I was first handed this little tube and was told that it was $24.50 I was like, “WHAT!!??” But, the lady reassured me that it only took a tiny bit for each application and that it would last a long time. I will have to say that she was right! I’m going on six months (…and counting) with the same little tub so it’s worth the price considering how long it lasts.

The last products that I want to mention today are both eyeliners. I don’t know about you, but eyeliner is my go-to makeup item. Without it, I feel naked. Like I mentioned earlier, I have struggled in the past with finding a long lasting line of makeup. Eyeliner is the worst about rubbing off and fading throughout the day. I have tried several lines of eyeliner and the only one that I have found to last all day is called WUNDER2 Super-Stay Liner.

I use this for the bottom lid and it goes on very dark and stays there all day. It is a pencil and can be sharpened. It goes for only $12.87 on amazon linked here: https://www.amazon.com/SUPER-STAY-Long-Lasting-Waterproof-Eyeliner-Essential/dp/B0774V29PG/ref=sr_1_4?crid=27YPKHLAMFLYT&dchild=1&keywords=wunder2+superstay+eyeliner+black&qid=1593790738&sprefix=wunder2+black+eyeline%2Caps%2C207&sr=8-4 It comes in 24 different shades and is my go-to pencil eyeliner.

The next eyeliner that I want to share with you is a liquid eyeliner. To be honest, I’ve never been big on liquid eyeliner simply because I’m not good a putting it on. With the cat eye look that became popular a few years back, I began searching for a way to copy it that wouldn’t make me look crazy. So I decided to look on amazon, and I discovered that they actually make cat-eye stamp liquid eyeliners!! WHAT?!!!

There are 2 ends: one with the stamp and the other with a liquid liner pen.
This is what the cat-eye stamp looks like.

These liners are very inexpensive and there are lots of options out there. I have tried several of the ones on Amazon and they all work great! All you do is stamp first, and then go back with the liner pen to fill in the rest of the upper lid.

SUPER EASY! If you’re wanting to achieve the cat-eye look, and know that you’re not going to be able to free-hand draw one on your eyes, I highly recommend giving these products a try.

I hope this has been insightful to those of you looking to try new products. If you happen to try one of these, please comment below and let me know! I’d love to hear your feedback! Hope you all have an amazing day!!

Sincerely, Sunny
