Georgia Peach Cobbler
This is one of my husband’s favorite deserts (not gonna lie…it’s one of mine too). I’m always glad when I begin to see peaches in season at the grocery store. That’s a for sure sign that I need to make a cobbler.
The best part about this recipe is that it’s SUPER easy and doesn’t require many ingredients. I do need to give a disclaimer that this particular peach cobbler is not for someone with sugar diabetes! It could be related to Paula Dean’s recipes in that it has lots of butter and sugar. So without further ado….I give you my famous Georgia Peach Cobbler:
You Will Need…
2/3 cup of sugar
1/3 box of Betty Crocker Super Moist Yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks of melted butter
5-6 medium sized peeled and sliced peaches
- Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees.
- Wash and peel your peaches. Put them in a 9×13 glass dish.
- Sprinkle the sugar on the top of them.
4. Using your hands, squeeze the sugar and peaches together. This will mix in the sugar and create more peach juices along the bottom. Be sure NOT to squeeze too much because your cobbler will be mushy.
You want your cobbler to look like this after this step:
5. Pour cake mix powder evenly over the peaches.
6. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Don’t worry if every inch of the cake mix does not get covered (the cobbler will still cook evenly).
7. Place in the oven on the top rack at 350 degrees. Bake for 90 minutes or until top is golden brown and peaches are bubbly.
