The Car Seat Fairy
If you’ve ever looked into the crevices of your child’s car seat and felt a quiet mix of horror, you are not alone.
One Southwest Florida mom saw that moment and decided to do something about it.
Her name is Hailey, and she is the woman behind The Car Seat Fairy SWFL, a local one-of-a-kind cleaning service built around something most parents don’t even know they’re missing: a safe, manufacturer-approved, thorough clean for the seat your child trusts most.
It was inspiring to hear the heart and spark behind the business, what Hailey wishes every parent knew, and what it’s really like to build something meaningful while raising a family at the same time.
“I wanted to help other parents keep their children’s seats clean while still following proper safety guidelines.”
Like most great ideas, this one started with a personal frustration. As a mom, Hailey quickly recognized just how much a car seat goes through snacks, spills, sunscreen, the full chaos of childhood packed into a small padded space. But as she started researching how to properly clean her kids’ seats, she discovered something surprising: most parents are doing it wrong and that “wrong” doesn’t just mean a less sparkly seat.
“I learned that cleaning a car seat the wrong way can actually affect its safety. Using the wrong soaps, soaking the straps, or putting certain parts in the washer can damage the seat and affect how it performs in an accident.”
She looked around Southwest Florida and realized that no one was offering a service like this. Not locally. Not with this level of care. So she built it herself.
Once she started researching the proper cleaning methods and safety standards, she gained a quiet confidence that only comes from being both passionate and prepared.
She uses only non-toxic products and follows manufacturer guidelines for every seat she touches.
Hailey is also homeschooling her children while running this business.
“People are often surprised that I started and run this business while homeschooling my kids and raising a young family,” she says. “It can definitely be a juggle, but it’s also what motivates me to build something meaningful, for my family and for my community.”
There’s something so deeply Southwest Florida about that, this idea that we build things here not just for profit, but because we’re rooted in this place and in each other.
Hailey isn’t just cleaning car seats. She’s modeling for her kids what it looks like to see a need, fill it with intention, and show up for your neighbors.
That’s the kind of local business we love to spotlight here.
